The HEROES OF FREEDOM tour offers a captivating exploration of iconic and historically significant landmarks in Washington, D.C., including the solemn Changing of the Guard ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington National Cemetery, the Marine Corps Memorial, the Air Force Memorial, the U.S. Capitol Building, and other sites honoring the service and sacrifice of the U.S. military. At the Arlington National Cemetery, visitors can witness this deeply moving tribute to America's fallen heroes. The tour also includes visits to memorials and museums that celebrate the proud history, service, and contributions of the United States Armed Forces.

OVERVIEW

   The Heroes of Freedom tour offers visitors a comprehensive exploration of some of the most significant memorials and landmarks in the Washington, D.C. area that honor the brave men and women who have served and sacrificed for the United States.

   The first tour option begins at Arlington National Cemetery, where visitors can witness the solemn Changing of the Guard ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, a powerful tribute to the fallen. From there, the tour proceeds to the iconic Marine Corps Memorial, also known as the Iwo Jima Memorial, which commemorates the heroic actions of Marines throughout history. Next, the tour visits the striking United States Air Force Memorial, with its towering spires symbolizing the spirit of flight and honoring the service of Air Force personnel. 

   The tour then moves on to the U.S. Capitol Building, a symbol of American democracy, and the American Veterans Disabled for Life Memorial, a poignant tribute to those who have been wounded or disabled in service. The final stop is the Navy Memorial, which pays homage to the men and women of the U.S. Navy.

   The second tour option begins at the White House, the official residence and office of the President of the United States. It then visits General John J. Pershing Park, which honors the legacy of the renowned World War I general. The tour then travels to the 9/11 Memorial at the Pentagon, a somber reminder of the tragic events of that day, and the Air Force Memorial. 

   The tour continues to the Marine Corps War Memorial, also known as the Iwo Jima Memorial, and the U.S. Marine Barracks, the oldest active-duty post in the Marine Corps. The final stops are the U.S. Capitol Building and the Navy Memorial and Museum, which showcase the rich history and contributions of the U.S. Navy.

   Both tour options provide a comprehensive and moving exploration of the memorials and landmarks that honor the sacrifices and service of the brave men and women who have defended the United States throughout its history.

As your tour company, we want to ensure you have a comfortable and enjoyable experience during your upcoming tour. Here are some tips and recommendations to help you prepare:

1. Sun protection - We advise all guests to bring sunscreen, hats, and sunglasses, especially for our outdoor tours on hot days. Protecting your skin from the sun's rays is important.

2. Water - We recommend that you bring a water bottle to stay hydrated, especially for our longer tours. Keeping well-hydrated will help you feel your best.

3. Comfortable walking shoes - It's essential that you wear comfortable, supportive shoes for our tours that involve a lot of walking. This will help prevent fatigue and discomfort.

4. Light layers - We suggest you bring a light jacket or sweater in case the weather changes or the indoor locations are cool. Being prepared for temperature fluctuations will ensure your comfort.

5. Camera - We encourage you to bring a camera or smartphone to capture photos during the tour. You'll want to have a way to document your memorable experiences.

6. Snacks - For our longer tours, you may want to bring some light snacks to have on hand. This can help maintain your energy levels.

7. Cash/cards - Please remember to bring money for any purchases, tips, or optional add-ons you may want during the tour. Having a mix of cash and cards is recommended.

8. Medications - If you require any personal medications, be sure to bring them with you. Your health and wellbeing are our top priorities.

- Mix of stops where guests can get off the bus and explore on foot, as well as drive-by views of certain sites.
- Good balance of time at each location, allowing guests to fully experience the important sites and memorials

3. Tour Guide and Commentary:
- Knowledgeable, engaging tour guides who can provide in-depth historical and cultural context about the sites.

4. Flexibility and Add-Ons:

- Optional add-on experiences or specialized tours (e.g., African American heritage, DC highlights, Christian faith, and evening tour) to cater to guests' unique interests.
- Free time for guests to explore on their own or visit additional sites not included in the main itinerary.

While a lunch is not provided in this tour, you're free to bring sancks at your convenience.

Check-in:

Our HEROES OF FREEDOM tour check-in is at 9:30 AM. We'll do our best to accommodate early or late arrivals - just let us know how we can make your arrival smooth. Once checked in, we'll get you ready to explore the city's iconic landmarks on an exciting day of sightseeing.

Cancellation Policy:

Liberty Tours cancellation policy allows for full refunds or rescheduling with minimal fees if the cancellation is made well in advance, such as 24-48 hours before the tour date.

- Full refund for cancellations made 48+ hours in advance.
- 50% refund for cancellations 24-48 hours in advance. 
- No refund for cancellations less than 24 hours in advance, but option to reschedule for a small fee.

This allows customers flexibility while also ensuring Liberty Tours can recoup some costs for late cancellations.
